EA Sports Active 30-Day Challenge Day 8
This is Day 8 of my EA Sports Active 30-Day Challenge and I feel great! I’ve worked out 6 times in the last 8 days and have been watching what I eat and writing it all down, although I think I need to come up with a better system of keeping track of my food. I do like SparkPeople and it’s been going well, but I get confused with that system sometimes and sidetracked by the bells and whistles! LOL
I haven’t weighed myself and I won’t until the end of the 30 Days because I don’t want to obsess on that, but I’d rather think about the positive goals of feeling better and moving more.
Day 8 and going strong!

My EA Sports Active for Nintendo Wii 30-Day Challenge (DAY 1) & Giveaway! (ENDED)
Filed under: All Giveaways, EA Sports, Fitness/Diet, Reviews
I have a lot of weight to lose and tend to get bored with the same old workout routines. I like video games and I love the Wii, so I am excited to be taking my personal EA Sports Active 30-Day Challenge. EA Sports Active is a game for the Wii that lets you work with a virtual personal trainer (you can pick either a male or female trainer), track your progress with a virtual fitness and diet journal and multi-player split-screen mode which allows you to challenge family and friends!
Today is the first day of the challenge for me and my goals are to lose weight and feel more fit. I also will be following a low-fat, reduced-calorie diet, drinking more water (goal is 8 glasses a day) and focusing on eating more fresh fruit and vegetables daily.
EA Sports Active is endorsed by celebrity trainer, Bob Greene, of Oprah Show fame and is the #1 rated fitness program for the Nintendo Wii. EA Sports Active retails for $59.99.
What’s in the box:
EA SPORTS Active Game
Featuring more than 25 exercises and sports-inspired drills.
Leg Strap
See your movements tracked on-screen with the specially-designed leg strap.
* Additional leg strap required for multiplayer use.
Resistance Band
Increase the intensity of bicep curls, shoulder presses and many other exercises.
* Additional resistance band required for multiplayer use.

I did my first EA Sports Active workout this morning. I strapped on the leg strap that holds the Wii nunchuk, created my own character (I got to pick my body type, clothing colors, hair color and style and a sporty hat). I completed the fitness and diet surveys, which give the game an idea of where I am and what I need to do every day. I chose the low intensity workout so that I could get the hang of how the program works. My workout consisted of inline skating, boxing and kickboxing, walking and running, squats, rows and bicep curls. It was 20 minutes long and I burned 200 calories. Not bad for a FUN workout! It was a lot of fun once I figured out how to keep the leg strap, which is adjustable, from slipping. After my workout, I felt pumped up, but not tired and I had an egg white English muffin sandwich for breakfast, which I’ll be recording on the EA Sports Active and over at

I’ll be exploring the program and trying out a different workout every day for 30 days and I’ll blog it all to track my progress here.
I’m also giving away EA Sports Active to a lucky Things Moms Like reader!
